Brrrr...

Tonight is going to be a very chilly experience. We had a gas leak in the house this afternoon and the utility company decided to not only turn off the gas, but lock the meter. So the plumber gets here to do the repairs but can't test to see where the leak is because the gas is off. I call the gas company to turn it back on but they say no, they are requring him to something called an "air test" on the line and find the leak that way, repair the leak and then someone from the city has to come inspect it before the gas company will turn the gas back on. He can't do the air test till tomorrow and then once it's done, it will take another 24 hours to get a city inspector out here. Sigh. This is beyond ridiculous. So that means that until this is resolved we get to freeze our butts off with no heat (and it's supposed to be 26 degrees tonight), no hot water and no stove. Kind of like camping, except not fun. Kevin is at the store right now buying a space heater and electric blankets and we are going to put the kids mattresses on the floor in our bedroom all pile in there tonight and try and stay warm. Fun times.
